DeLAND, Fla. – For the second consecutive game, the Central Michigan baseball team suffered the heartbreak of losing a game in the ninth inning.
Virginia Tech used an infield single, a stolen base, an error, and a two-out RBI single to push across a run in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday in downing CMU, 4-3, in the Chippewas’ final game at the Stetson Invitational at Melching Field.
The Chippewas finished 0-3 in the invitational. The loss came one night after Stetson beat CMU, 5-3, on a three-run walk-off homer.
