MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan quarterback Shane Morris was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
Morris, a graduate student from Hazel Park in his first season at CMU after transferring from Michigan, completed 28 of 37 pass attempts for 467 yards and five touchdowns in leading the Chippewas to a 45-27 victory at Kansas on Saturday.
Morris’ TD passes covered 14, 40, 6, 7 and 75 yards. His 467 yards is the third-highest total in program history. He also rushed for 32 yards.
