MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Tinara Moore was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Moore helped the Chippewas to a 1-1 record last week, their win coming on Feb. 22 over Northern Illinois, 109-86. That victory gave the Chippewas a first-round bye in the MAC Tournament and a ticket to the second round in Cleveland.
Moore, a 6-foot-3 junior forward, averaged 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocks per game. She made 18 of her 26 field goal attempts (69.2 percent).
She made a program-record nine blocks in the Chippewas’ win over NIU and came within one block of her first career triple-double as she finished with 24 points and 15 rebounds.
