DETROIT — The weekend success Central Michigan has enjoyed over the last several weeks has not yet translated well to its midweek games.
The Chippewas finally lost a Mid-American Conference game Sunday afternoon when they were upended 11-2 by Western Michigan, breaking a stretch of eight straight conference wins.
But entering Tuesday’s ‘Clash at Comerica’ game versus Notre Dame, the games during the week to break up the conference schedule have not exactly gone CMU’s way.
The Fighting Irish continued Central Michigan’s midweek doldrums.

A five-run third inning propelled Notre Dame to an 8-3 victory over the Chippewas, their fourth midweek loss in five games over the past month.
