JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Ziemowit Dutkiewicz qualified for the quarterfinals in the men's 400-meter hurdles Thursday, leading the Central Michigan track & field team in the NCAA East Preliminary at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.
Dutkiewicz, a junior, was clocked at 51.73 seconds, the 16th-best time in the event. The top 24 advanced to the quarterfinals, which are scheduled to begin at 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Dutkiewicz was one of seven Chippewas to compete on Thursday. None finished among the top 12 in their respective event. The top 12 each event advance to the NCAA Championships June 8-11 at the University of Oregon.
