ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Central Michigan indoor track and field teams got a boost of momentum last week at the Notre Dame Meyo invitational.
The Chippewas rode that momentum to 22 top-eight finishes Friday at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in the Lakers’ Kelly Family Sports Center.
The Chippewas’ Cole Walderzak and Dylan Banagis finished one-two, respectively, in the men’s weight throw invitational to highlight a good performance on the whole for CMU student-athletes.
Mark Guthrie, CMU’s Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, said going into the meet that he considered the weight throw to be one the premier events, as more than 60 programs brought competitors to the west side of the Michigan.
