MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan lacrosse player Shannon Doyle was named the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week.
Doyle, a freshman midfielder from Mars, Pa., headlined a solid defensive effort in the Chippewas’ narrow 12-9 home loss to Marquette, which entered the game with three close losses, two of which came to nationally ranked teams.
Doyle helped hold the Golden Eagles’ leading scorer to zero run-of-play goals and limit Marquette to just three first-half scores. She was key to CMU’s transition defense, totaling a team-high five caused turnovers.
