MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – In a game of runs, Detroit Mercy had the last big one.
The Titans scored four consecutive goals during a six-minute stretch in the second half Saturday in handing Central Michigan a 17-12 Atlantic Sun Conference lacrosse loss at the CMU Lacrosse-Soccer Stadium.
The loss snapped CMU’s program-best three-game win streak as the Chippewas finished their second varsity season 7-10 overall, 4-6 ASUN.
“There was so much emotion in that game because it was very fresh in our mind from last year (13-8 loss) and it’s kind of a rivalry game, in-state rivals,” CMU coach Sara Tisdale said.
