MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Marcus Keene officially announced on Tuesday his decision to leave Central Michigan to pursue a career in professional basketball.

Keene, a 5-foot-9 guard, took college basketball by storm this season, his one and only at CMU after transferring from Youngstown State.

Keene led the nation in scoring at 30.0 points per game, and he scored more points, 959, in a season than any player in Mid-American Conference history.

He scored 50 points in a Jan. 21 home victory over Miami (Ohio), becoming the first player to score 50 in an NCAA Division I game since 2013.
