MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Marcus Keene picked up two awards on Monday in the wake of his 50-point performance in a victory over Miami (Ohio).

Keene, a junior guard in his first year at CMU after transferring from Youngstown State, was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week and the American Sports Network Player of the Week.

Keene’s 50-point outburst on Saturday in the Chippewas’ 101-92 win over the RedHawks is the third-highest total in program history, and it broke the McGuirk Arena record of 43 points set 10 days earlier by Presley Hudson of the CMU women’s team.
