BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Freshman Danielle Sawyer shot a 5-over par 78 on Sunday as the Central Michigan women's golf team finished third in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
The Chippewas posted a 323 team score to finish at 635, 20 shots behind first-place Ohio, which closed with a 310. Host Bowling Green finished second at 630 (318-312) in the 10-team field.
The third-place finish was CMU's best in a tournament since the program was resurrected in the fall of 2014.
CMU's Natalie Johnson, who shot 73 on Saturday for a share of the first-round lead, posted an 8-over 80 on Sunday and finished tied for third at 153.
