Tyler Conklin was fronted by an Ohio defender in the end zone, seemingly with no angle to catch the incoming pass from Central Michigan senior quarterback Cooper Rush.
Rule No. 1: don’t tell Tyler Conklin what he can’t do.
Conklin reached around the Bobcats defensive back and with his left hand reeled in a highlight-reel 8-yard touchdown pass at the 5:51 mark of the fourth quarter that proved to be the difference in a 27-20 Chippewas victory at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The play by Conklin had to be replayed many times to believe it and was a surefire bet to be included highly on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays.
