Guevara To Enter Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The awards, honors and accolades keep rolling in for Central Michigan women’s basketball coach Sue Guevara.

Guevara, who led the Chippewas to unprecedented heights in 2017-18, will be inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame in November. The hall announced its seven-member 2018 class on Wednesday.

Guevara, a native of Saginaw and a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School in Saginaw, is in her 11th year as the Chippewas coach. She earned the Kay Yow National Coach of the Year Award and was named the Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Chippewas to both the MAC regular-season and tournament championships, a program record 30 wins, and the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
