The Central Michigan University women’s basketball program scooped up a pair of Mid-American Conference honors on Tuesday as head coach Sue Guevara was named ‘Coach of the Year’ and freshman point guard Presley Hudson was named ‘Freshman of the Year.’
Guevara earned the honor for the first time in her nine years at CMU and becomes the first women’s head coach to receive the honor since Donita Davenport back in 1985.
Hudson is the fourth Chippewa to be named the conference’s top freshman and first since Niki DiGuilio back in 2011.
Fellow frosh Reyna Frost finished second in the ‘Freshman of the Year’ voting and was also named to the All-Freshman team Monday.
