Sue Guevara is going to be around for a while and that’s a good thing.
On Thursday afternoon Central Michigan University announced it had extended Guevara’s head coaching contract through the 2020-21 season, which adds an additional year to her previous contract.
Entering her 10th season at the helm Guevara has coached the CMU women’s basketball team to a record of 153-134. Additionally her teams have won 20 games or more and have received postseason berths in five of the last six seasons.
“There is no place I’d rather be,” said Guevara, who was named Mid-American Conference ‘Coach of the Year’ in 2016 after leading the Chippewas into the MAC Tournament title game where they fell in overtime to Buffalo.
