As we close the book on 2016, we take a look back at some of the best in Central Michigan athletics from over the past 12 months.
The stories below aren’t necessarily a comprehensive compilation of highlights and accomplishments, but rather snapshots into the human side of Chippewa athletics specifically and intercollegiate athletics in general.
The extreme highs and, yes, sometimes the lows. These stories are about the drama that goes along with the final score, from a highly decorated quarterback who epitomizes what it means to be a student-athlete, to one of the most-celebrated plays and wins of the college football season, to student-athletes overcoming tremendous personal adversity, to a favorite son, and, finally, to an unheralded freshman who went from backup to All-America, seizing the spotlight on the biggest of stages.
