FrostBite: Reyna Frost has career day as Chippewas open MAC season with win

Central Michigan women’s basketball coach Sue Guevara knew coming into her team’s Mid-American Conference opener that Kent State was going to defend in the 3-2 zone.

But though that meant the Chippewas would need to change up their offensive scheme – from a drive and kick oriented attack to an inside-out one – it’s safe to say that the ninth-year head coach felt pretty confident about her team’s chances.

“We were pretty happy that they were playing the 3-2 to be honest with you,” she remarked. “[The high post] is the weakness of the 3-2 defense and I don’t think we’re going to see a lot of 3-2 from people simply because of how well we establish the high post.
