Former CMU guard Rayshawn Simmons to play in Czech Republic league

Senior guard Rayshawn Simmons lays the ball in during the game against UT Martin at McGuirk Arena, Wednesday, March 16, 2016.

Former Central Michigan Basketball standout Rayshawn Simmons has signed a contract with Oril Prostejov of the Czech Republic National Basketball league.

Simmons started an assistant coaching job for his alma mater Webster Groves (Mo.) High School in early December. He received a text message on New Year's Day from his agent about a contract with Oril Prostejov and took the offer.

Simmons will be a mid-season add for the Oril Prostejov roster that is limited in the amount of foreigners it can have on the team, according to the Czech Republic rules.
