Former Central Michigan student-athlete Austin Stewart has accepted an invitation to the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp.
Stewart was a four-year letter winner in basketball at CMU from 2012-16. He appeared in 122 games, starting 39, and averaging 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
After completing his basketball eligibility, Stewart joined the Chippewa football team for the 2016 season. The Normal, Ill., native, who is listed at 6-foot-6, 215 pounds, appeared in nine football games, making six catches for 65 yards with a long of 35 yards.
Rookie minicamps are conducted by most NFL teams and include free agents, rookie draft picks, some veterans and other invitees.
