TOLEDO, Ohio – Nothing is over until it’s over.
The Central Michigan football team is still alive in the hunt for the Mid-American Conference championship. Yet realistically, those hopes took a severe blow Saturday in a 31-17 loss at Toledo.
CMU is 2-2 in league play, two games behind in the loss column to the Rockets and Western Michigan, both of whom are unbeaten in conference play. CMU finds itself tied for third place with Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan.
The motivation for the Chippewas, 5-3 overall, turns to finishing strong and reaching a bowl game.
