OXFORD, Ohio – Overshadowed by the mounting frustration of a third consecutive loss was the statistical historical significance of Cooper Rush in the Central Michigan football program.
The senior quarterback threw for 242 yards in Friday’s 37-17 loss to Miami (Ohio), bringing his career total to 12,129 career yards which ranks second all-time among Mid-American Conference signal-callers.
Rush, who completed 21 of 32 pass attempts, entered the game ranked fourth on the list. He passed Marshall’s Byron Leftwich and Miami’s Zac Dysert. Leftwich threw for 11,903 yards from 1999-2002; Dysert for 12,013 from 2009-12.
