DETROIT – Former Central Michigan defensive tackle Louis Palmer has signed a rookie free agent contract with the Detroit Lions.
Palmer, who listed at 6-foot-2, 290 pounds, made 30 tackles including four tackles-for-a-loss including sack during the 2015 season, helping lead a Chippewa defense that ranked No. 2 overall in the Mid-American Conference.
Palmer, a native Detroiter who played at Cass Tech High School, appeared in 48 games during his CMU career, finishing with 91 tackles, five sacks and 13 tackles-for-a-loss. He also defended three passes and forced two fumbles.
