Football. Chippewas Picked 4th In West

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan football team was picked to finish fourth in the Mid-American Conference West Division in a poll of media who cover the league.

The Chippewas received two first-place votes and 98 total points. Western Michigan, with 19 first-place votes and 144 points, was selected to win the West.

Bowling Green, with 12 first-place votes and 136 points, was picked to win the East. The Falcons are three-time defending East champions.

CMU was picked to finish fifth in last season’s poll then finished 6-2 in conference play and shared the West title.
