MOUNT PLEASANT – Senior tight end Tyler Conklin had surgery Wednesday to repair a broken bone in his foot, Central Michigan football coach John Bonamego said.
Bonamego said doctors have not determined a timetable for Conklin’s return to the team.
“We’ll continue to listen to the medical professionals,” Bonamego said. “What’s most important now is Tyler’s health. Thankfully, this is a position where we have some depth.”
Conklin injured his foot in training camp. He had 42 catches for 560 yards and six touchdowns in 2016. He had two touchdown catches in the upset victory at Oklahoma State, which earned him the John Mackey Tight End of the Week Award.
