First-place Chippewas: CMU women win fifth-straight MAC game, top EMU in nail-biter

YPSILANTI – Central Michigan University freshman Reyna Frost blocked three shots in the final 10 seconds of regulation Wednesday to help lift the Chippewas to a tough-fought 66-65 victory over EMU from the Convocation Center.

With the win the Chippewas (14-7) stay atop the Mid-American Conference West Division standings as they improve to 8-2 in MAC action. The Eagles (13-8) fall to 4-6 in MAC play, despite having numerous chances to win in the final five seconds.

EMU point guard Cha Sweeney had a chance to give the hosts the win in the final four seconds but the 81-percent free throw shooter missed two free throws.
