MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team was picked to finish sixth in the Mid-American Conference preseason poll of league coaches.
Miami (Ohio) finished atop the poll, followed by Kent State, Ohio, Longwood, Missouri State, the Chippewas and Ball State.
Miami and Kent State, which shared the regular-season title in 2015, each received three first-place votes. Ohio received the other.
The RedHawks and Golden Flashes each received three votes to win the league tournament. Ohio received the other. Kent State has won the last two league tournament championships.
