MACON, Ga. – There will be no ‘co’ anything now.
The Central Michigan lacrosse team, fresh off its Southern Conference co-championship just three years after the program’s launching, will open the four-team league tournament on Thursday (7:30 p.m.) against Furman.
Detroit Mercy, which shared the regular-season title with the Chippewas, plays Mercer in Thursday’s first semifinal at 5 p.m. CMU is the No. 2 seed, Furman is the No. 3, and Mercer is seeded fourth.
The title game is Saturday at noon. The tourney champion receives a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
