MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Jordan Ellingwood was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week.
Ellingwood, a junior from Plainfield, Ill., recorded a pin and a major decision in helping the Chippewas go 2-0 in duals last week.
On Thursday, Ellingwood pinned Aaron Calderon of Michigan in 1:02 to help lead the 17th-ranked Chippewas to a 19-18 upset of the No. 10 Wolverines. On Sunday, Ellingwood scored a 16-3 major decision over Brett Perry in CMU’s 35-3 MAC victory at Buffalo as CMU extended its dual win streak to four.
