Fans watch Central Michigan University's wrestling match against the University of Missouri in McGurick Arena, Sunday, January 17, 2016.
The Central Michigan wrestling team entered the weekend with hopes of a sweep through the Hawkeye state, but came up with a split.
After beating Northern Iowa 22-11 on Friday, the Chippewas lost to No. 17 Iowa State 25-12 on Sunday.
No. 21 CMU (6-4, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) had to start the match down 6-0 after sophomore Brent Fleetwood (125-pound class) was forced to forfeit due to an injury.
“(Fleetwood) sprained his foot during his match on Friday and wasn’t able to go today,” said Head Coach Tom Borrelli.
