CMU women's basketball enters critical stretch of games, hosts Toledo Saturday

When the Mid-American Conference preseason poll came out last fall the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team got little love.

The Chippewas didn’t deserve much love either as they had limped to the finish line in 2015 by losing 12 of their final 16 games.

By the end of the docket the Chippewas looked like a tired and worn out team, a byproduct of numerous knee injuries that decimated the starting lineup.

Considering the fact that they also had to replace 90 percent of their offense and count on freshmen and sophomores to lead the way in 2015-16 the Chippewas were essentially an unknown commodity.
