Jewel Cotton kick-started the second-half rally by scoring eight-straight points Saturday from Central Michigan University’s McGuirk Arena.
Soon thereafter Amani Corley, Cassie Breen, Presley Hudson and Tinara Moore followed suit as the CMU women’s basketball team went 18-for-31 from the floor in the second half to blow past visiting Illinois-Chicago by a final of 77-55.
The win was the fifth-straight for the Chippewas (6-2) who seem to be building confidence with every game heading into the stretch run of the non-conference schedule.
“We are not on all cylinders yet, not even close,” said CMU head coach Sue Guevara following the festivities.
