DEKALB, Ill. – Down 57-43 going into the fourth quarter things were looking grim for the CMU women’s basketball team Saturday.
However, the Chippewas rallied and outscored host Northern Illinois 30-10 in the fourth quarter to grab victory from the jaws of defeat as they toppled the Huskies 73-67.
With the win Central Michigan improves to 17-7 overall and to 11-2 in Mid-American Conference play.
Meanwhile NIU falls to 10-13 overall and to 3-9 in MAC play.
The Chippewas have now won eight straight games which is tied for the second-longest winning streak in Sue Guevara’s tenure.
