Since it started about a decade ago the annual ‘Hoops for Hunger’ game has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds of food for those in need in mid-Michigan.
At high noon Friday the Central Michigan University women’s basketball team is hosting its 2017 rendition of ‘Hoops for Hunger’ when it welcomes in the College of Charleston for a matinee.
Any fan who brings in a non-perishable food item will receive free admission to the game which pits two 1-1 teams against one another. Last year this game brought in over 42,000 pounds of food for those in need and this year’s poundage might surpass that.
