After opening the Mid-American Conference season with six-straight victories the Central Michigan University women’s basketball program has since come down to earth.
On Jan. 21 the Chippewas got run by defending Mid-American Conference champion Buffalo 67-56 on the road. Then on Saturday the Chippewas turned in a less-than-stellar showing at Toledo en route to a 74-72 defeat.
With these two losses the once front-running Chippewas (14-6, 6-2 MAC) have dropped to third place in the MAC West Division behind Northern Illinois (15-5, 8-1) and Ball State (14-7, 7-2) and the schedule doesn’t get any easier as CMU plays host to Ohio at 6 p.
