Central Michigan University’s women’s basketball team closed the season out Thursday at home with a 63-55 defeat to IUPUI in an opening-round WNIT contest.
With the defeat the Chippewas close the 2015-16 docket out at 22-11.
IUPUI advances to the second-round of the WNIT to face San Diego.
The Chippewas took a 12-9 lead at the end of one Thursday before the Jaguars (21-10) reeled off a 21-11 run in the second to go into the half leading 30-23.
A 20-15 run in the third pushed the deficit to 12 at 50-38 and the Chippewas weren’t able to claw back into it as IUPUI held them off down the stretch.
