CLEVELAND – The Central Michigan University women’s basketball team rolled to its second-straight victory in the Mid-American Conference Friday as it defeated EMU from Quicken Loans Arena by a final of 86-71.
With the win the second-seeded Chippewas (22-9) advance to Saturday’s MAC Championship game where they will face eighth-seeded Buffalo (19-13) at 1 p.m.
The winner of this contest earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
On Friday the Chippewas turned in a fine second half as they outscored EMU (21-11) by a count of 49-30 in the final 20 minutes.
The Eagles took a 24-19 lead at the end of one quarter and went into the half up 41-37.
