CMU spring game proves to be competitive and constructive

It’s been a few years since Central Michigan University football has seen a true quarterback competition coming out of spring practice.

This season it’s different. At least we thought it was.

Head coach John Bonamego announced Saturday that the clear choice to fill in the QB1 slot on the roster is Lansing’s own Tony Poljan.

The 6-foot-6 sophomore certainly leaves nothing to be desired in terms of athleticism and he gives the effort of a practice squad player trying to earn a spot on the roster.

That was evidenced in the third drive of Saturday’s ‘Spring Game’ scrimmage, when Poljan was the lead blocker on a reverse play.
