YPSILANTI - The Central Michigan University softball team won the Mid-American Conference regular-season title outright Sunday as it swept two games from hosts Eastern Michigan University by scores of 6-4 and 5-4.
With the wins the Chippewas improve to 36-13 overall and to 18-5 in MAC play. EMU falls to 17-34 and 3-20 in MAC play via the losses.
The Chippewas also wrapped up the No. 1 seed at this upcoming week’s MAC Tournament in Akron which opens play on Wednesday.
The Chippewas last won the MAC outright in 2004 and last won the MAC West Division in 2008.
