CMU softball ties with Zips

The Central Michigan University softball team played visiting Akron to a 4-4 tie at Margo Jonker Stadium Saturday in a game that was called in the fifth inning because of snow.

The Chippewas rallied back from a 4-0 deficit in the bottom of the fifth to get the tie.

Rachel Vieira opened the bottom of the fifth with a double and Lacy Tolfree reached on an infield single . An Allison Curtis double made it 4-1 before CarolAnn Sexauer doubled two in to tie it at 4-3. She then scored on a Sydney Heath single to close the scoring out.
