Smoking hot or on fire might fit the current run that the Central Michigan University softball team is on a little bit better.
Since Feb. 18 Margo Jonker and her Chippewas have been absolutely tearing it up during the non-conference portion of their schedule as they have won 13 of their last 14 games and have outscored their opponents by over four runs per game.
After getting out to a 1-6 start CMU didn’t hit the panic button, rather it regrouped and has since caught fire.

“I think it’s been a number of things coming together for us,” said long-time CMU softball coach Jonker.
