CMU men off to great start so far in 2017

On Friday night, the Central Michigan University men’s basketball team kept on rolling at McGuirk Arena.

As it was the Chippewas, who won the Great Alaska Shootout title last weekend, won their fifth-straight game as they held off Jackson State 70-63 to improve to 6-1 on the season.

They are now more than halfway to matching Keno Davis’ best start to a season of 11-1 which occurred in the 2014-15 season. The game itself was a back-and-forth affair that saw the lead change 10 times in the first half. Ultimately, the Chippewas pulled ahead by 14 before halftime, and never yielded the lead the rest of the game.
