CMU lands fourth, Janowitz named MAC 'Freshman of the Year'

The Central Michigan University women’s gymnastics team finished in fourth place at the Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Ball State on Saturday as it tallied a team score of 195.600.

Eastern Michigan won its second MAC title in gymnastics as it posted a score of 196.425 while Ball State was second with a 195.650 and Bowling Green was third with a 195.625.

Defending MAC champion Kent State was fifth with a 195.325.

Three Chippewas were named to the All-Tournament team in Megan Lamphere, Taylor Bolender and Bryttany Kaplan.

CMU freshman Kasey Janowitz was also named ‘Freshman of the Year’ for the Chippewas.
