MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - For the second consecutive year, the academic success of the Central Michigan women's golf team is among the best in the NCAA.
The Chippewas received the NCAA Public Recognition Award, which goes to programs in the top 10 percent in academic progress rate of squads in their respective sports during the 2015-16 academic year.
The award includes a letter of congratulations signed by NCAA President Mark Emmert and President John DeGioia, chair of the Committee on Academics.
Academic Progress Rate (APR) holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.
