Chippewas use three punters in place of Coluzzi in Quick Lane Bowl

Zach Oakley kicks the ball on Dec. 28, 2015 during the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

About two weeks before the Quick Lane Bowl, Central Michigan Head Football Coach John Bonamego found out he would be without junior placekicker Ron Coluzzi due to “personal reasons.”

Coluzzi plans to transfer according to Central Michigan Athletics Communications.

Bonamego was left with a roster full of players with a collective zero career collegiate punts and six kickoff attempts.

Backup punter redshirt freshman Cooper Mojsiejenko would also be unavailable due to injury.

While Eavey was placed at the top of the depth chart for the first time on Monday, it was redshirt defensive back and former backup quarterback Zach Oakley who did the majority of the punting for the Chippewas.
