ALLENDALE, Mich. — Central Michigan track and field cleared the last hurdle before the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships with a good showing at the Grand Valley State Tune-Up on Friday afternoon.
Thirty-one CMU athletes were entered in various events, with the large majority of the team resting its legs before next weekend’s marquee event.
Three Chippewa men – Kevin Weiler (shot put), Dylan Banagis (weight throw), and Lorenzo Wells (200-meter dash) finished first in their respective events.
Wells’ time of 22.29 seconds in the 200 was his best of the season.
