Chippewas Try To Salvage Game 4 On Sunday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Central Michigan baseball team rallied for five runs in the eighth inning, but fell a run short in its comeback bid on Saturday in game three of its four-game series with New Mexico at the Lobos’ Santa Ana Star Field.

The Lobos handed the Chippewas an 8-7 loss. CMU (2-5) will look to salvage the final game of the series on Sunday (2 p.m.). Sophomore Zach Kohn will start for the Chippewas against Cody Dye.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New Mexico (4-3) scored two runs in the second, fourth, fifth and seventh innings in building an 8-2 lead and chasing CMU starter Pat Leatherman (0-2), who surrendered six runs on eight hits and struck out six over 4 2/3 innings.
