KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Rachael Knapp recorded her seventh shutout of the season in the opener, then came on to notch the save in the nightcap on Tuesday as the Central Michigan softball team swept rival Western Michigan in a Mid-American Conference doubleheader at the Broncos' Ebert Field.
Knapp (12-6) fired a one-hitter as the Chippewas took the opener, 9-0. The game was called after five innings because of the run rule.
Hanna Warren went 6 2/3 innings for the victory and Erika Underwood homered for the game's lone run as CMU completed the sweep with a 1-0 win in the nightcap.
