MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Central Michigan softball team split a Mid-American Conference doubleheader with Western Michigan on Wednesday at Margo Jonker Stadium.
The Chippewas won the opener, 6-2, and then dropped the nightcap, 4-1. CMU won the season series from the Broncos, opening the three-game set with a 5-2 win in Kalamazoo last week.
The Chippewas are 18-16, 8-4 MAC. Western is 20-17, 7-5. The loss in the nightcap ended CMU's win streak at nine games.
