MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Utilizing a remarkable second-half performance, the Central Michigan soccer team capped off its season with a 4-1 win over Eastern Michigan in a Mid-American Conference match on Thursday at the CMU Soccer Complex.
The Chippewas finished 8-8-3, 3-6-2 MAC. They rebounded from a tough 2-1 loss to Western Michigan that eliminated them from the MAC Tournament race on Sundy. The win eliminated Eastern Michigan (7-12-1, 4-7) from tournament contention as well.
“The commitment and passion that the team had and how hard they competed today – I could not be more proud of their response in terms of the difficult circumstances playing the game today,” CMU coach Peter McGahey said.
