MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – With 4-0 win in front of a buzzing crowd on a beautiful day, the Central Michigan women’s soccer team couldn’t have asked for a better home-opener.

Mary Carlson scored in the first goal nearly six minutes in, setting the tone in their CMU’s win of the season on Friday at the CMU Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium. CMU is 1-1-1 on the season after tying Tulsa and falling to Kansas last weekend in the Jayhawks’ Rock Chalk Invitational.

“It sort of shakes off the jitters of last weekend,” CMU coach Peter McGahey said.
